When many linguists think of tech careers, they think of roles requiring a deeper bench of technical skills. While there are plenty of roles in tech that linguists can succeed in without needing to become a technical resource, there ARE those among us who are more inclined to the quantitative side of things.

In this panel, we talk with linguists who, either through their academic training or their current career paths, have worked to explicitly cultivate their technical skills. This panel is a great opportunity for those with computational linguistics or other quantitative training, or who want to pursue work in roles such as “research scientist” or “computational linguist”.
